Well I thought I was having trouble getting on Twitter earlier (never know if its Twitter or my companies proxy) So when I got home tonight my assumption was right. So I found that Twitter downtime May 20th
This downtime happened just moments after I found that Zappos had completed the Twitter Tracking for Columbus page. Which is really cool. It is a page that tracks Twitter users, like me that are Twittering here in good ole Columbus Ohio. Now you might be wondering how this happened and why this happened? Well it goes something like this: wyliemac, a friend and co-worker of mine, saw that Zappos had a cool page that had all the Zappos employees Twitter updates, so he inquired about the coolness of this page by tweeting the CEO of Zappos and he said he could have one made for him if he’d like. Wyliemac then posted a message to the Google group Columbus Social Media Cafe, asking who would like to be included and what words to be tracked. And the rest, well it’ll be history once Twitter is back up.
