Well the iPhone launch has come and gone and now we are into day one. Yes I got one last night around 6:30 East Coast time. I would have posted an article about this earlier but I have simply been too busy playing with all the cool features.
First thing I have to say about the whole experience is it was kinda surreal. My 8 young old daughter and I sat in line for about 3 hours (she was a real trooper). We went to the Easton Town Center Apple store in Columbus OH. During our wait the Apple store employees came around a few times passing out free water and coffee. Which I thought was cool. Also several restaurants came around and took orders for food and drinks for delivery.
But the real experience was getting in the store. They let about 30 or so in at a time to keep it organized and fast flowing. When you walk in there were about 50 employees cheering and yelling. It was like I won something. An experience I won’t forget. Everything was quick and very smooth. Took about 10 minutes from when I walked in the store til I was walking out with my new iPhone 8GB.
I will probably have a video here soon but everything you heard about what a wonderful user experience this phone is, is absolutely true. This is truly a game changer. Even activating it was not very painful. Although when I was porting my number over from another carrier I made a mistake and had to call customer service. Even that was quick and painless. If you have $600 laying around I highly recommend getting an iPhone.
