Like others, to my regret, I did not scrutinize a website which reveals the felonious criminality of the swine who reap their ill (actually, criminal) gotten gains, under the vile name, Mercantila. They seek $486.04, for a Schwinn recumbent cycle, which I ultimately bought from Amazon - it was shipped promptly, in perfect condition, and with no shipping charge. The criminality of mercantila even extends to their advertisements on the web, which stated "free shipping". The charge for shipping was $36.05. I will gladly join in any class action for fraud against mercantila criminals, who I have heard described as incestuous swine.

You are right about that. They don't always suck. So the question then becomes what process did they use to make the franchise even better? Back in the 70's and 80's you couldn't rush a movie to the theater because the tools and technology just weren't there. So did they spend the money and time to make sure that Empire lived up and exceed the hype?

By the way I am really looking forward to Iron Man 2 this year so I hope they have done the right things to make it live up to the hype.

Oh and I am also really looking forward to Wall Street 2, Money Never Sleeps. 20 years in the making they have certainly taken their time on this one. And even if they weren't actually working on it, it was in someones head building and waiting to be put on paper. :-)

While I agree with most of your post Blantonious, I do have to mention one sequel that I honestly feel is better than the original: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK.

I love, love STAR WARS -- and all of it's corny & goofy charm. A great story with a cast full of chemistry you can't beat. It's truly one of my favorite flicks. But I must admit that as much as I love STAR WARS, I loved THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK even more.

George Lucas and company had raised the bar very high with the original, so all eyes were ready for the sequel to....well, suck. Guess what? It didn't, and EMPIRE remains a classic (and arguably the best of the series) to this day.

OK, that's all I got. Thanks for the thought-provoking movie post. Keep 'em comin'!

It's not really a complaint, but a pleasant surprise.
I purchased a dining set from www.diningroomsinc.com. I did a web search to see any complaint against this site; since I didn't find any, decided to purchase. I received email from them with Mercantila address, and that they didn't have it in stock, and is backordered till next month. Whereas on their web site it mentioned it was on stock. I did a search on Mercantila and was shocked to find so many complaints. I canceled my order after few days. I got an email from "Sal" that my order has been canceled and will let me know when it will be credited. I was surprised to see my money refunded to my credit card in a week! Unbelieveable!

I didn't do my research. Paid over $500 for a trampoline to be sent "FEDEX." 12 days after I placed the order, I figured out this was a fraud, thus cancelled the order. 2 days after I cancelled, the order was shipped! I've put a stop on the shipment. Now they are going to try to charge me for a "restocking fee and shipment fee." Thankfully, I used my AMEX and they are helping me dispute the charges. Mercantila presents as if they are a "Amazon.com" type store, but they don't have the merchandise to follow through with their orders. "Sal," you should be put in jail!

I know I am just singing to the choir, but ...

My experience with Mercantila (mercantila.com) was so bad that I have to let other people know they should stay away. I had issues with their web site order entry and ended up purchasing two items rather than just one. I tried to contact Customer Service – virtually unreachable by telephone (hold times of over an hour on more than one occasion) and purely one-way communication via the web site. So now I am returning items and that is when I encounter the egregious 25% restocking fee and two-way shipping fees. You end up paying nearly half of the purchase price for something you did not want.

When you do searches for the best price on the internet, they will appear in your list from time to time. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE - DON’T DO IT!

We ordered a table and chairs on Feb. 1st 2010. Still waiting for product. Received our credit card bill and grossly over charged. Stop put on charge card. BBB complaint as well as Attorney General Office.
We have e-mail, spoken to customer service. Canceled the order. Were told they were sending this order and that we would have to ship it back and pay the fees we never agreed to. If you try to contact Mercantila by e-mail they won't let it go through unless you agreed to their policy.

I really wish I would have done research on this site before ordering a $500 pilates machine for my wife. Turns out the machine had been discontinued, but they still charged my card. I did receive an email confirming my order had been cancelled and my card would be refunded between 4-6 business days. It's been that long and still nothing. After reading these emails I don't see getting my refund until I talk to the BBB!
